SUCCESS!!

We JUST came out of the consult room with the surgeon, Dr. Hilfiker, who opened the conversation with, "It went well... in fact, I would go as far as to say... it couldn't have gone better."  YES!

The prolonged surgery was due to the enormous size of the tumor and the fact that it was more entangled than originally expected.  Dr. Hilfiker said that she didn't see anything that made her think this was something other than a Wilms' tumor however she stressed that she is not a pathologist so she can't make the definitive claim that it is indeed a Wilms' tumor.  Those results aren't expected to come back for another 2-4 days but the biggest hurdle was just soared over with flying colors!

We're now waiting for Liv Blu to come out her anesthesia in the recovery room before mom can go back and see her.  She doesn't have to spend any time in the ICU and will be coming back to our room :)

We'll get more info out as it comes in but for now we're STOKED!
